Everything we programme is shown in Kep before it goes anywhere else, and it is free. A fishing family should be able to see the work made about their boat without buying a ticket or travelling to Phnom Penh. Labels and programmes are in Khmer and English.

Kep International Art Week, Edition 01

21 boat builders, three exhibitions, five public conversations, the Kite Festival with art films on the roof of The Wave by CIFF 360, and contemporary dance on the pier. Exhibitions stay open for two weeks after the closing. All events are free.

Ten Boats

For decades these boats carried the families of Kep. Now they lie abandoned on the shore. Art for Kep is giving 21 of them to 21 artists — Cambodian and international — to be reborn as artworks at our first International Art Festival, and then to travel the country as a moving exhibition.

Cinematic Artist Challenge 2026

Art for Kep and Kep Music City invite filmmakers and sound artists from around the world to create a 3-minute work celebrating our coastal regions – their people, their culture, and their ocean. This global talent journey is open to digital artists and music creators of all kinds, including filmmakers, video artists, sound artists, composers, musicians, and spoken-word performers.

Artist Contest 2025

The Artist Contest 2025 has successfully concluded, bringing together a diverse group of talented artists who explored creativity, culture, and personal expression through their work. This edition highlighted artistic interpretations inspired by Kep, showcasing a wide range of styles, mediums, and perspectives.

Through this annual contest, Art for Kep continues its commitment to supporting emerging and established artists while creating a platform for meaningful artistic exchange.

Basic Art — Drawing for Kids

A community workshop introducing children to drawing and looking, held at Knai Bang Chatt.

Outcome: school and community participation figures to be published with the annual report. One of the most useful programmes we run — and it will keep a permanent place on this page.

Tides Between Worlds

CIFF 360 — Kep

Pre-festival screening in Kampot, then four days in Kep: open-air cinema by the sea at Knai Bang Chatt, Kep West and Art for Kep, with Cambodian and international films, talks and workshops, in partnership with the Cambodia International Film Festival.

Move With Us — Where South Asia Meets South East Asia

From Pakistan’s River Ravi to Kep’s fishing communities, Alina Mehmood traced what disappears when water disappears — and found in Cambodia’s coastal dances an unexpected echo of home.

Ocean Costumes — featuring Lady of the Reef

Art for Charity — Khun Vannak

A silent auction for Khun Vannak, one of Cambodia’s leading contemporary artists, bringing artists, collectors and friends together while he battles stage-four skin cancer.

Outcome: amount raised and what it paid for will be published here once confirmed — this is the kind of ending a non-profit page needs.
