Artist Residency

Apply for the residency.

Year-round, no fee, reviewed on the first Monday of every month.

Before you apply

Four documents. The proposal matters most.

Four documents: an artist statement, a CV, a portfolio and a project proposal. The proposal matters most. Tell us what you want to make in Kep and why it has to be made here. One page is enough. Write in Khmer or English; Khmer applications are read in Khmer.

Residencies run one to three months, up to three artists at a time. Cambodian and regional artists are fully funded. International artists receive accommodation, studio, meals and in-country support, and arrange their own flights or sponsorship, with our help applying to your country’s cultural funds.

You must be 21 or over with at least two years of active practice.

One thing to know before you apply: every resident runs one free public activity for the Kep community during their stay, and leaves one work, archive or piece of research with Art for Kep.

Applications are read on the first Monday of each month and you will hear within three weeks. Shortlisted artists are interviewed online or in person. There is no fee at any stage.
