Immersive Art Residency in Kep, Cambodia
The Art for Kep Artist Residency welcomes visual artists, musicians, filmmakers, environmental artist and creatives from Cambodia and around the world. Supported by Knai Bang Chatt, Kep West, and leading partners, our residency blends artistic innovation, cultural exchange, and community engagement in the heart of Kep.

WHO CAN APPLY?
We invite applications from:

Applicants must have an active creative practice (2+ years experience), be at least 21 years old, and submit a clear project proposal.

Participate in the selection interview if shortlisted
Selection Criteria: Artistic vision, community engagement, originality, and fit with our values.
Step 1 - Document Preparation
Prepare an Artist's Statement, CV, portfolio and project proposal. These Documents are necessary for applying.
Step 2 - Form Application
Click on the button above "Register Your Account" and you will be redirected to the application page. Kindly fill out the information required.
Step 3 - Inital Review
Completed applications will be reviewed within maximum three weeks of submission.
Step 4 - Shortlisting & Final Selection
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews that can be virtual or in person. Then candidates will be notified following completion of the interview process.

Prince Sisowath Tesso

His Royal Highness Prince Sisowath Tesso. Prince Sisowath Tesso is Director of the Princess Buppha Devi Academy, respected advisor to the King, and former Secretary of State at the Ministry of tourism. An internationally recognized patron and champion of Khmer arts, he combines deep knowledge of artistic heritage, leadership in cultural initiatives, and extensive experience in promoting Cambodian artists globally. His integrity, cultural expertise, and commitment make him an ideal selection committee member for artists seeking trust and mentorship.
Luu Meng

Okhna Luu Meng is one of Cambodia’s most distinguished culinary leaders, CEO of Almond Group, and Vice President of the Cambodia Tourism Federation (Group B). He has devoted his career to preserving the nation’s rich culinary heritage while driving innovation within Cambodia’s hospitality industry. Okhna Luu Meng is celebrated not only for promoting Cambodian cuisine but also for elevating food to the realm of art.
Rithy Panh

Rithy Panh is a globally acclaimed Cambodian filmmaker, celebrated for his pioneering documentaries and feature films chronicling the trauma and legacy of the Khmer Rouge regime. Born in Phnom Penh in 1964, he survived the genocide and later studied cinema in France, before returning to Cambodia to create a groundbreaking body of work, including international award winners such as “S-21: The Khmer Rouge Killing Machine” and “The Missing Picture”—the first Cambodian film to earn an Oscar nomination. In addition to his filmmaking, Panh co-founded the Bophana Center, dedicated to preserving Cambodia’s audiovisual heritage, and remains a central figure in Southeast Asian cinematic

LinDa Saphan

With a PhD, LinDa is a Cambodian artist, social anthropologist, and cultural historian. A Fulbright Scholar, she contributed to Don’t Think I’ve Forgotten: Cambodia’s Lost Rock and Roll and has published widely on Cambodian cinema and cultural history.
Pierre-André Romano

Founder of Satcha and Sar Modern Art Museum in Siem Reap; leader in promoting modern Cambodian craft and innovative, sustainable creative economies.
Reaksmey Yean

Cambodian curator, researcher, and educator; Program Director of Silapak Trotchaek Pneik, with advanced degrees and expertise in contemporary Cambodian art and criticism.

Mr Youdy Bun
Mr. Youdy Bun, Managing Partner and Founder of Bun & Associates, is one of Cambodia’s leading legal professionals, with more than twenty years of experience in banking, finance, M&A, and dispute resolution. Formerly President of the National Commercial Arbitration Centre and Secretary-General of both the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia and EuroCham Cambodia, he is widely respected for his integrity, leadership, and dedication to community progress. He is currently the Board Chair of Teach for Cambodia, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to solve the problem of educational inequality.
As a dedicated supporter of “Art for Kep,” Mr. Bun has generously offered his Kep beach property to become a dynamic hub for creativity — housing a gallery and studio spaces where artists can work, collaborate, and share their vision with the community.
